Barrie Llewelyn


Barrie Llewelyn is the author of Gather Gold and other stories a brilliantly unique collection of tales exploring both her American origins and her beloved Wales.

Barrie edited the collection of short stories from the Welsh Short Story Network. Secondary Character and other stories.

She also hosted the first evening of readings by members of the WSSN at Chapter Arts Centre in June 2014. More information on the Welsh Short Network can be found here on their website.

Brief bio:

Barrie Llewelyn: Senior Lecturer in Creative Writing; Award Tutor, BA English

BA (Hons) Humanities (Glamorgan), PGCEFE (Bangor), MPhil in Writing (Glamorgan). Short stories, articles and reviews have appeared  in The Guardian, The Western Mail, Cambrensis and a variety of magazines and anthologies.  Article in Teaching Creative Writing (The Professional and Higher Partnership) 2012. Longlisted for the Bridport Prize in 2005. Editor of several books, including A Stone for Remembrance: Welsh Legends Retold (y Lolfa Press, 2006). Research interests: Creative Non-Fiction; Who’s telling the Story?  The Narrative Voice and Eye; Employability and the Creative Writing Workshop.
